Maot Chitim - Covid-19 Support

  • Maot Chitim

  • This year we will celebrate Pesach differently.  Pesach celebrates our liberty, freedom, and the birth of our nation, usually celebrated with family and friends.  But not this year.  This year, we will celebrate alone with our immediate families, because guarding our health and keeping safe comes first.

During these pre-Passover days Chabad will still be distributing  Passover food packages and Shmurah Matzah to needy people and the elderly within our Jewish community.

Dozens of families having difficulty obtaining their holiday needs have privately turned to the shul for help, and we in an effort to assist them with their needs, turn to the community for support. We know that right now is difficult, but right now we together have a chance to make a difference.  To make sure that every person will be able to have Seder in the comfort of their homes.

‘Maot Chitim’ (Passover funds for the poor) is one of the most significant observances of the Passover holiday. Please open your heart and give whatever you can to participate in this special ‘Mitzvah’.

What better preparation can there be for our festival of freedom?

In merit of your concern for others, may G-d grant you and yours health, happines,s and a very joyous Passover holiday.  And may this Pesach be truly free, with the end of the virus and a chance to come together again.

With gratitude and blessings, I remain,

    Rabbi Menachem Posner
